Home made granola bars

Granola bars are rich in protein, fiber and minerals and is one of the best sources of energy when had before and after workouts. Bars that we get in the market are not only expensive they contain sugar. I was trying to get hold of a perfect recipe of granola bar that contains natural sugar and is easy and quick to make. I looked through the internet, went through various recipes till I found a  easy one, that could be used. However I perfected it my own way using ingredients that are easily available .

Oats – 1 cup

Wheat barn – 2 tbsp

Flaxseed powder – 1 tbsp

Sesame seeds – 1tbsp

Almonds – 10

Dates pitted – 15

Raisins – 1tbsp

Honey – 2tbsp

Olive oil – 1tbsp

Powder oats and almonds in a blender and chop the dates finely in a food processor or in the blender. In a big bowl mix the powdered oats, almonds, wheat barn, flaxseed powder, dates, raisins, honey and olive oil. Mix it with your hand, till it forms a dough like consistency. Once you have the dough, roll with a rolling pin. Put the rolled contents either on an oil aluminium foil, or on parchment paper and fold it form four sides to give it a squarish shape. Put it on the baking tray and bake for 5 minutes on 180 degrees.

Take out the baking tray and cut the cake into bars when warm. Store in a cool place.
